Supreme's tapping Jamie Reid for their Spring 2021 collection is one of those collaborations that actually makes sense. For those who don't know, Reid is the legendary graphic designer behind the Sex Pistols' iconic visual identity - those ransom-note style graphics and provocative imagery that defined the aesthetic of punk. His work on "God Save The Queen" and Never Mind the Bollocks wasn't just album art; it was a visual revolution that influenced generations of designers and artists.

What makes Reid's story compelling is that the DIY aesthetic he's known for wasn't just a stylistic choice - it was born out of necessity. Working on an agitprop magazine in 1970s Croydon, he couldn't afford proper typesetting equipment, so he developed his signature cut-and-paste, xeroxed approach that Malcolm McLaren eventually tapped him to bring to the Pistols. Reid's been a genuine activist his whole life, from attending anti-apartheid rallies as a kid to fighting climate injustice today, so his confrontational visual style has always had real purpose behind it.

The collection has a Varsity Jacket, Sweater, Shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, and T-Shirt. Select pieces drop May 6th in the US and May 8th in Japan. No word yet on which specific pieces are dropping when or pricing details, but expect Reid's signature bold graphics and historical imagery to feature prominently.
